K-Line Trailers: An Ergonomics Success Story
Continuous improvement
The SRT process led to ergonomic improvements at K-Line Trailers, and a lot of lessons were learned along the way. For example, many of the controls required tweaking for them to work as planned so it’s important to remember modifying controls is normal and should be expected.
It’s also normal to attempt control measures and find them ineffective. All controls should be assessed and those found not to be effective can quickly be cancelled or altered so efforts can be spent elsewhere.
In addition, they saw how asking workers for feedback was integral. Workers know the work better than anybody and getting their input is one of the fastest, most informative methods of gaining insights into why a control may or may not be working.
K-Line Trailers remains committed to the process of continuous improvement by looking for other opportunities to further minimize the risk of MSIs.
