When implementing a job rotation schedule, you may need to consider organizational constraints such as:

  • Scheduling and availability of employees trained in multiple areas.
  • Differing pay scales or a unionized environment.
  • Job titles or whether or not job descriptions allow for performance of different job duties.
  • Training, experience, skill, or education needed for tasks within the job rotation.

Once you’ve determined a job rotation design is effective, some of the benefits to implementation may include:

  • Reduced exposure to MSI risk factors
  • Increased innovation and improved efficiency
  • Improved employee skill base and job assignment flexibility
  • Increased employee satisfaction
  • Increased productivity and quality
  • Reduced absenteeism and turnover
  • Reduced monotony and boredom
