Getting trained and certified for asbestos abatement work

To help keep workers safe from the dangers of asbestos, WorkSafeBC is implementing mandatory training and certification. Anyone who performs asbestos abatement work in relation to buildings in B.C. must complete training from an approved provider and obtain a certificate. The new requirements will be in effect starting January 1, 2024.

Employers, do you know your responsibilities after a worker is injured? Starting January 1, 2024, employers and workers will have a legal duty to cooperate with each other and with WorkSafeBC in timely and safe return to work following a worker’s injury. 2024 WorkSafeBC Student Safety Video Contest
