Multiculturalism Week: Supporting new workers

It’s Multiculturalism Week in B.C., and we’re proud to honour the diverse cultures and communities that make up workplaces across the province.

WorkSafeBC research shows that workers who have been in Canada for five years or less are significantly less likely to speak up about workplace health and safety compared to those born in Canada. They are also less aware of their right to file a claim if they’re injured on the job.

  • For workers: No matter your immigration status or term of work, you are covered by WorkSafeBC insurance and you have workplace rights.

  • For employers: You have health and safety responsibilities for anyone working for you.
