Personal Optional Protection (POP) has a new name: Personal Coverage

If you’re a sole proprietor or in a partnership, you may not be automatically covered in the event of a work-related injury or illness. The name has changed to Personal Coverage, but it still offers workplace disability insurance that will pay health care, wage-loss, and rehabilitation benefits if you’re injured at work.

If you’re already enrolled in the program, there’s no change to your existing account or coverage. Learn more about Personal Coverage and apply today.

Conference: Make It Safe Okanagan — April 23

2026 WorkSafeBC Student Video Contest — submission deadline April 2

Students in Grades 8 to 12 are encouraged to submit an original video for a chance to win cash and other great prizes. This year’s theme is "Use your voice for safety" and asks young workers to tell us how they can make themselves heard when something feels unsafe.
