Construction injury rate down 25 percent over past decade

During Construction Safety Week, we highlighted the progress in B.C.’s construction sector, where the overall time-loss injury rate has declined 25 percent over the past decade and the serious injury rate has declined 32 percent.

Despite these improvements, construction remains one of B.C.’s highest-risk sectors, with musculoskeletal injuries, falls from heights, and workers being struck by mobile equipment continuing to drive serious injuries. WorkSafeBC protection for all workers, from day one

All B.C. workers, regardless of their immigration status or term of work, are covered by WorkSafeBC insurance and health and safety provisions. If you employ workers from another country who are working temporarily in the province, they have the same rights as other B.C. workers.

Each online services account is designed for one individual. If you currently share an account, you will need to create your own account to be able to access your information once mandatory two-factor authentication is in place.
